PETER GOLD OF ST. AUGUSTINE TEAM FINISHES 1st IN AGE GROUP AT RECENT PINK UP THE PACE 5K.
St. Augustine Team Realty’s Peter Gold finished 1st in his age group and 28th overall in the recent Pink Up the Pace 5K held in Historic downtown. Gold competed against 21 runners in his group and over 1700 runners overall, finishing in 22:22.
Gold bettered his time by over a minute from 2010, when he finished 3rd in his group and 47th overall.
“I told Peter he was an inspiration to all of us,” St. Augustine Team broker Sean Hess said, “and he asked, ‘Why?’”
“Forget that it’s running for a good cause,” said Hess, “but Peter’s in his 60’s. I am also a competitive amateur athlete and I understand how hard training is on the body—and I’m 42. He can not only survive the training that puts him—in his 60s remind you—28th overall in a 1700 person race, but still maintain his role as a husband, father, Realtor and business owner. He’s not only an inspiration in terms of always keeping fit at any age, but in keeping fit well enough to compete at a high level while maintaining a regular life.”
