ST. AUGUSTINE TEAM REALTY’S SEAN HESS RAISES MONEY FOR MS IN RECENT MS 150: PGA BIKE TO THE SHORE.
St. Augustine Team Realty’s Sean Hess rode from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach on his bike to raise money for the North Florida Chapter of the National MS Society for its fight against multiple sclerosis (MS).
The MS 150: PGA Tour Bike to the Shore was held over two days on October 3rd and 4th, with over 2,000 riders participating in the charity event.
“This year was so much nicer, weather-wise,” Hess said. “Last year the final 37 miles were in the rain!”
“You tend to get caught up in the ride as simply an athletic event,” Hess continued, “but then you get to the finish line and the volunteers thank you over and over again for riding. It really hits home and makes you feel like you’ve done something really positive."
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system (the brain, optic nerves, and spinal cord). It is thought to be an autoimmune disorder. The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—moving together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis.
Anyone wishing to contribute donation or find out more about next year’s ride can contact the North Florida Chapter of the National MS Society at 4237 Salisbury Road, Suite 406, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
